Advocacy workers go with clients to any meeting or service the client is having difficulty navigating on her own, such as court or social services. An advocate always looks out for the client’s best interest and teaches the client how to stand up for herself. Advocates will also call and check in on clients and build relationships with them.

STREET OUTREACH TRAINING
This 3-day, 12 hour training course is offered 3-4 times each year and provides an in-depth look at domestic human trafficking in the U.S., Maryland, and Baltimore City. You will learn how to safely and effectively conduct outreach to victims working on the streets of Baltimore City.
This training is required for all volunteers who wish to participate in street outreach, and is highly recommended for all other volunteers who intend to work directly with clients. All 3 days and shadowing are required to participate in street outreach.
If you have a large group that is interested in training for outreach, please let us know. When there is enough interest, we will consider adding additional training dates.
